Thoughts of backwood moonshine stills and the stranger characters we encounter in life come to mind when listening to the 'Shine. Don't assume that we think what we do is some form of high art--we like to call it low un-art. The songs we write are about whatever is going through our minds during the five or ten minutes it takes to write them down. "Our minds" usually refers to Andy's twisted imagination, but occasionally, Joey's equally twisted imagination comes into play. Travis plays drums, Joey plays bass, Karl has been with The Shine for about 2 years as lead guitarist and Andy pretends to play guitar and sing. We try to be original, and if you don't like it, drink a little more. It's supposed to be loud and trashy, so don't complain..... Influences include highly modified early '80's Japanese motorcycles and the thing-in-itself. If you don't know what that is, throw away your TV as soon as possible and soon thereafter you will begin to understand.

Things we hate: Drummers who wear gloves, Singers who use wireless headset mics (you know, like the ones the astronauts wear). Other things of interest: Andy hates MySpace, Pat Robertson, and Pink Floyd--"fuck you they suck", Joey, well.. He will be Joey. Travis is surprisingly normal--but don't worry, we're working on that and Karl is a self centered ego maniac who can't get enough of his own reflection.
